Eye Tattoo Parlor...

Hey Peeps,

Great work with the script pj, makes me want to go out and make it by myself. Just wanted to know if you are going to do any of this eye tattoo stuff in your video, cos i'd love to work on that shot...

these are just some videos i showed you in the studio...

this one is probly a good example for the Red Sun ad. this is just a spoof extras from eternal sunshine of the spotless mind dvd. from what we discussed on the studio, we wanted to do similar approach as this video, to get that cheesy infomercial effect (similar style of song perhaps?) as an advertisement for the Red Sun 'helpline' (not the society). the target is to approach parents to send their kids or their depressed selves to the company and get... well.. drugged.




this video is from michel gondry's dave chappelle's block party. this might be another way to present the documentary as it may look slightly more laid-back than the alien interview video, which i personally thought is a bit too professional-looking for an 'amateur' rebel group.. well, its just an alternate idea, might be useful for future references..




if anyone's interested, ive got the dvds so just tell me if you want to borrow em..

another thing, i might just put all the stuffs we went through on the studio. not gonna be a long one, thou..

ideas:

1. Infomercial --> example: Lacuna Inc. video
very simple video, gives cheesy effects
targeted for kids and young adults, and their parents
idea: showing a 'happy' life, taking a stroll down the park while the doctors (or whoever he is) blabbers abt how Red Sun will provide happiness bla bla bla...

2. Documentary --> have a 'spy' from the rebel group into the red sun and record conversations
undercovered rebel group sending webcam videos to current affair
still photos with voice overs as the background
min: 3 characters --> the reporter, the redsun (current member, ex), the rebel character (parents of the children), government
do the re-enacment of 'drugging' scene


3. Current affair --> was sent a webcam video from an undercovered red sun member
press conference of a government member denying the secret society


SCENARIO:

"For awhile they were really good kids, but after certain period of time they behave differently"
"The government funded Eclipse to destroy the Red Sun, but then they realise that government also funded Red Sun as a secret society/cult" --> this part is already refined by Kyle and it's now clear that the government is no longer funding the Red Sun but instead 'hire' a rebel group to gain public respects to 'destroy' the society



REMEMBER:: each video team member should come up with scripts for each videos and create storyboards by Friday and post it to the video blog!!

hello video guys..

hi guys.. well, sorry for being absent for a day :p

here, ive got some ideas for the video.

personally, i think animation is a bit tougher and more time consuming than video, i mean we can do it and i really dont mind, but i prefer doing a short film or something along that line.. plus, its more realistic (a good effect i guess to let people believe in it) well im gonna spill out my ideas and see what you guys think, k? :D

one idea is to create a documentary-style video, interview some people who are 'believed' to have seen the society in action or heard something or even experience it, and then add some 'facts' that support the idea that redsun is actually 'there'. we can use people outside mmda to be the actors and perhaps give them sort of like a scenario to tell the stories. this way, the video can look real and believable and i reckon its not gonna be really hard to produce.. we can use still images and probly animations to complete the facts and there wont be much of acting required, except for telling the stories (which should be pretty easy) here's an example of that, and you can see a complete video stream of "Loose Change" in google video (will take quite a long time, so i suggest to use uni's mac instead)



the second idea is to create a blair-witch-like video, having a group of people (us, perhaps :p) to hunt for the secret society, and document the journey and the experience using a hand held dv camera. for this idea, it might be harder to do than the first one, especially on the pre-production, since it will need a lot of acting involved, and very time consuming on the shooting process. but it might give a more realistic effect since it allows people to believe that it actually happens, again, only if the acting is good. oh and plus, i reckon the post production is not that hard.

well, those are just some ideas i thought might be awesome for this project.. pj, if you need any more footage or trailers or nething, let me know!
